High performance KATANA products were first introduced in 1995 in line with IBEA's strategy to diversify into high performance 2-cycler power products in addition to its traditional line of garden machines. A highly successful partnership with Mitsubishi's world renown Heavy Industries division helped develop a range of products able to ensure performance to levels the highest standards. The Katana brand encompasses a range of products designed for challenging maintenance tasks in gardens, undergrowth and inaccessible areas. During the ancient Japanese feudal period, Katana was the name given to the Samurai sword. This was considered more than just a simple weapon: it was a tool of perfection, lightweight, elegant, extremely sharp, forged only by a few, highly skilled artisans. Katana is therefore the perfect name for a range of brushcutters and hedgetrimmers which, like the famous sword, offer precision cutting, reliability and ease of use. All Katana branded products are entirely designed and produced in the factory at Tradate, to the same high standards as all IBEA products and, likewise, benefit from the same services and warranty cover.
